Working with a computer, be aware CVS


If you include workers who use computers for more than two hours a day, be careful with computer vision syndrome (CVS). This syndrome is a result of complaints the eyes and vision work using the computer for too long. As a result, your productivity at work may decline.

Symptoms of a person exposed to CVS was the irritation of the eyes red, sore, watery or dry. In addition, the eyes feel tired, eyelids or forehead feels heavy. The reason is the frequency of blinking is decreased due to use computers for long periods. As well, the computer and setting the wrong light.

This syndrome is also often accompanied by headaches or migraines. If at work, you experience this you should rest for about 10 to 15 minutes. Eyes off the monitor every 15 minutes by looking at distant objects for about ten seconds.

You can also make variations of activities to avoid seeing the computer screen continuously, like a walk around the office, or chatting with friends.

Rest your eyes every hour worked at a computer, to avoid CVS. In addition, also set the lighting in your surroundings. Do not be too bright and avoid light reflection on the computer screen.

The sitting position is also very important that you avoid the CVS. Use an adjustable seat position and back support. Instead, sit up straight (90 degrees) with the position of the keyboard slightly lower than the elbow arm (100 degrees).

The computer screen should be within 50 to 75 cm from the eye (more than reading distance). Adjust the screen at a slight angle to the rear of 5 to 20 degrees from an upright position and the top of the screen parallel to or lower than the horizontal eye height.
